Yeah finally 22nd July 2008! A date where everyone looked foward to...Right? ;)

Anyway, my friends and I gathered up and head to Autocity, Juru for a dinner. Its becoming an annual ritual, no? The last time they had steamboat during CNY and I sadly missed out :S

Yupz the whole top level is Tao's.

The moment I saw the entrance, I had good feeling about the place.

Love the natural feeling of the interior deco. So darn cool!

I was damn lucky to get this shot. We were at the restaurant before 5.30pm. Therefore we had to wait outside the restaurant until they are ready to let us in. I love the water pathways at Tao, very Japanese. LOL...

This is where we were seated. Not bad at all. The bamboo, large whole wooden tables and a cozy environment ;) Great ambience~

We wanted this room so badly! Unfortunately its reserved only for patrons of 13pax and above + Early reservation. Haih...

This is the salad bar. If not mistaken, all those people who opt for buffet can come over and fix themselves a bowl of salad or two! Of course, its not a time to stuff myself with greens. Its totally reserved for the mahal dishes.

I started by having some nigiri sushi-s with ika (cuttle fish) , white maguro (white tuna), hotate (scallop), seaweeds and hama (clams) topped seperately. White tuna was yummy yummy :)

Had to snap them quick, even myself wanna attack them fast. LOL! Grilled salmon was delicious. First time I had teriyaki salmon with crispy skin! I whacked about a slab and a half of it *grin* Abalone is ok but slightly spicy and creamy Motoyaki Scallop was yummylicious. Absolutely better than E-Gate's fishy smell scallop.

It ain't Japanese dinner if there's no sashimi and so we ordered Sashimi Moriawase (worth RM30).Not bad considering the consistent "Mmmmmm" sound coming from my friend. Hehe

Steamed Unagi wasn't as good as I thought. Not enough teriyaki sauce, not fluffy enough and its filled with thin bones :S

Then comes the huge pile of grilled lamb chops~*slurps*~our main dish. I find that the dishes served in Autocity's Tao is lighter on its flavours compare to their E-Gate branch.

So far, I had no complains about them except for my coursemates. They ended up with sore gums after chewing the meat. The ones I had were tender leh, no?

Didn't know the name but its Japanese chicken satay. Every stick came with tender, grilled to perfection chicken thigh meat, skewered in between garlic slices and spring onion stalks.

Finally, 2 1/2 scoop chocolate chip ice cream to complete my dinner. Of course in between I walloped 6 chawanmushis, some makis and a lot of sashimis (esp. White Tuna).

Despite ordering so much, we did not waste food. RM10 forfeit for every 100gm leh...I rather they suck my blood out.

Please click to enlarge picture for the opening time. But usually they will start serving dinner at 5.30pm and EARLY reservations are 100% advised else you will have to waste hours to wait for tables or leave without a single peek on the grilled lamb.

Penang Bridge Toll: RM7
Tao Buffet Dinner: RM50
Gathering with friends: Priceless

Happy whacking~
