Mother's Day

Heh here comes a day where mom-s and her family will ber-gather and have a nice meal not cooked by the mother herself. It doesn't really happen to me :P Mother's Day is one of the most afraid days for dad. Restaurant full house so go figure :S Itu pun he only works there and doesn't own it. There goes his 30 years with this restaurant.

Aiks...thats not my point. Since we cannot gather for a decent dinner meal, we have a humble breakfast instead at one of my favourite kopitiam. There is no doubt, this kopitiam serves the best drinks around. I love their tea based drinks like Teh-C , Teh Peng and Teh-O Limau. The uncle also skillfully bancuh yummy Milo ais and kopi ;)

My usual order will be Teh-C Peng and Chee Cheong Fun.

Heh, my turn to post about CCF. I have been eating CCF ala kicap and minyak masak since I was 4 years old? Anyway, Penang only sells CCF this way or with prawn paste and sweet bean paste. So far I only ordered CCF from this stall and I don't eat CCF at other places. The CCF at this stall is fragrant due to the oil she used. It's pre-processed by frying shallots in the oil. The soy sauce is not of top quality but it taste slightly different from the usuals ;)

Suddenly something caught my eye...Nasi Kerabu!! Too bad the aunty only cooks it for fun, "Aiyah play play only lah." was the response. Aih....

Bursting full of fragrance from ginger flower bits, shallot bits and kaffir lime leaves shreds. Yummy! Absolutely love it :3

Heh after a movie and fetching dad, we went to Batu Lanchang market. Dad needs to run some errands and I quickly checkout the seafood section. I manage to get hold some deep sea clams (according to the seller) and it has no sand. Glad, its true. Tho I still soak them in salt water just in case.

Its a no brainer spaghetti. Stir fry some onions, throw in 80% cooked spaghetti, slatther some tomato sauce, add in a scoop of concentrated tomato paste, tomato chunks, some salt and sugar. Give it a few toss and put your clams on top. Then add in some hot water and cover the pan. From there, you can happily see your clams popping up ;) The clams are fresh so all of them popped open.

Please remove those that are not opened. They cannot be eaten as they were dead during the time of catch.

The clams were slightly huge. Well, its not that sweet and mom says its a bit tough. But I like it because they are meaty. So, your call.

Happy B'lated Mother's Day ;)
