I have posted this place before in Xanga but I think it deserves a spot here too :)

Last year we're supposed to have an outing with ex-classmates but got postponed due to unpredictable weather. True enough, it was raining like there's a hole in the sky. Eventually the outing became a small eat out with CJ, Selina and me. Yes, me and Selina went all the way to Nibong Tebal just to eat 'moi' (porridge in Hokkien).

We reached Nibong Tebal after about 1 hour driving from Penang. We picked up CJ and she lead us to the restaurant or dai chow place.

First dish...

Moonlight horfun ( 月光何 ) ...well originally it should be horfun surrounding the raw egg in the middle but as time pass and people are afraid of bird flu : P it was served like char koay teow style, entirely cooked :P Packed with wok hei , flavourful and huge prawns! RM10 per plate can feed 4 person XD I think there were 10 big prawns in that plate. Very generous indeed :)

Can't remember the name...Thai Style Tofu (RM8)? Anyway the beancurds were fried till crispy and drizzled with sweet sour sauce. I heard it is an apetizer ordered by most patrons.

The picture below was taken on my 2nd trip to Nibong Tebal. I thought it would be better to group it all together.

Next came the stir fried brinjal with japanese tofu (RM8). Altough they added cili padi, the dish was not spicy actually. The brinjals were soft and there is a certain aroma to the brinjal. I love fried brinjal :)

Then comes Sambal Pucuk Ubi (RM8). Another good dish. Not too spicy and very flavourful as well! The potato leaves were soft. Guess, they did their job by picking only the young leaves :P

Finally the main dish arrives!

The porridge is like teochew style porridge, rice is added to the soup and boil. In this bowl, there's only 1 crab. The crabs they used are the huge variety. Not sure where they come from though.

We slurped up everything and went home with superfull bellies. I couldn't recall the price of the crabs as the last time we ate there was a year ago.

I heard there are better options at Nibong Tebal (someone mentioned about a stall under a tree). Anyone?
