Penang Rocked Us All

Argument ended yesterday finally. 5 years is too short to do any hanky panky behind the people of Penang and if they do, they are extremely short sighted.

BN suffered the hugest lost in the history. They very well know, we always support BN well until the 12th general election. They should take this 5 years as time off to reflect and also buck up. Ong Ka Ting was right. His party members do not have to resign. They should continue serving the people eventhough they are in a tough situation. BN has gone through 50 years. That's a very long ruling period. MCA shouldn't say we destroyed them. If a 50 year old party is so easily destroyed, they shouldn't be there in the first place. Remember you are there to serve people!

According to Missy Jae's comment, she agreed with my friend's statement. I ponder upon the comment. If balance is great, why Perak is having power stuggle? The reality of politics I suppose.

Hope they working on the monorail project. They have been talking about it since I was 7 years old. Now I am 22. Are they going to wait till I have kids? =.= People will be having flying cars by then. Don't need monorail anymore.

Ongoing argue with my friend. Different thinking I guess...

She was saying that the government should not comprise 1 party in total power. A balance must be there. And we should vote for the ones who can really work regardless which party the person is from. A single party in total power will cause dictatorship, power monopoly and so on.

I had respond by saying when you are a leader in a party, surely you would not take your nemesis under your wing. What if the nemesis causes trouble? And went on saying if there is a balance, we wont get things done. half agree half disagree. How to develop the country?

Tak habis habis. Whatever she say its not going to change the fact that DAP is the new government. They better work their ass off or get kicked out completely exactly like 2004 election.

OMG O.o

News:
"DAP has grabbed 24 seats out of 40 state seats. The opposition will form the coming Penang state government."

Yeah happy after I got the news but as me and mom talked further. More problems emerge.

The question is where will this lead us to? For better or worse we have to wait and see.

My friend was telling me people of Penang were too emotional thus voted for the opposition. She reckoned everyone should vote for the person not the party. She also said most of those voted for opposition is emotional and lack of judgement because regardless if the BN candidate could work or not, people will still vote the opposition and shy BN candidates away just to make sure opposition win.

What would you say about that?

Happy voting~

It is a good day for all Malaysians. I hope the new Penang gov will work very hard for all Penangites. As for your question, I think it's pointless for us to vote a BN candidate base on the person. BN MP is not allowed to go against any proposals by the government even though it go against their conscience. They will be suspended if they do so.. so BN MPs will not dare speak up for the ppl they represent.

stumbled on your blog after browsing through feedbacks from the people in penang ^^,

its true a gov should not have just a totalitarian power reigning, take a look at the situation at hand, now we voted the oppositions because we do not want 2/3rds given to them, whatmore all? i believe that either a party gets half or slightly more than half majority is fair, but not more than that. oppositions are good, and now in this case, the oppositions (bn) must be present in penang also to sort of monitor the situation at hand. these dap people are new, fresh, young, inexperienced, thus its like a dad letting his kid ride the bike, but his watchful eyes will be on him, to monitor him and make sure he does not fall.any oppositions are good to ensure that no hanky panky is ensuing in the present governance. if you are clean, transparent and not corrupted, why would you be scared? you should face your constituency with pride because you know that you done no wrong. sadly, most of our politicians have yet to face us with a clean slate.
Anyway u read wong chun wai's column? he also said people were emotional now...which i guess its sorta right in some sense, they are so fed up, enraged with the current situation, which resulted in a swing of votes. my relative's neighbour(i wish not to disclose his name nor his constituency), who stand for pkr, din even bother to campaign much yet he got the state seat. and his nemesis, who is a bn person, who was the incumbent for several years had worked so hard, doing so much for the community and yet, all his good deeds were forgotten because people were bitter and angered by BN, and since he is from BN, they decided to oust him. But cant blame the people for being so overwhelmed by emotions though. thing after thing, alot of corruption and nonsense has been unveiled, so thus, we can say that, unfortunately for Bn, this is the climax for their anger, and with this General Elections, the people decided to vote opposition, regardless of the bn people being able to deliver. That's the world of politics to you. Hope i've answered ur question :)

I think the citizens sent a clear message to the gov this time. I think you're right, those who're defeated should really take some time and ponder why they lose.
