The Power In our Hands

Recently, I had found out that quite a number of my friends did not register to vote, even their friends as well. All these while I thought one can only register at a SPR booth but is not exactly correct. Anyone who reaches 21 can register anytime of the day (within office hours) at any computerised post office (most convenient).

However I would still prefer if they just automatically register those who turned 21 so time and precious votes would not be wasted. Imagine the person's birthday is only less than a month away from the election date!

I used to think even if we register and throw in our votes, it would not make any difference thus the idea of registering does not exist (refering to BN's landslide win at most elections) until this 12th General Election. This year's polls result is so significant that it actually slaps the fact in our brain that WE HAVE THE POWER & WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Wong Chun Wai is right, the spirit is very much still alive and kicking. Heh...

Happy reading~

I think a lot of people have regretted not voting. Perhaps we should be like Australia...make it compulsory to vote. :-)
