The 7th day of Chinese New Year is 人日 (Yan Yat) which means 'the common man's birthday' accoding to Wikipedia. Normally...uhm, actually...for the past 20 years, dad brought home Yee Sang Chicken Porridge (鱼生鸡粥) and 'lou hei' at home.

One huge bowl of plain chicken porridge with fish, chicken pieces and loads of spring onions.

Having feasting for so many days, its high time for comfort food a little. No?

Yee Sang will be eaten together with the chicken porridge. Else why call Yee Sang Kai Chok? LOL

The plain porridge compliments the sweetish teo-chew raw fish salad (Yee Sang).

Hahaha I already feel healthier after having both of this. Wish everyone is in their best of health especially the one with tonsilitis with PUS :S

Happy 'lou hei'-ing~

The chicken porridge in here looks totally different than the chicken porridge in Jakarta, the one here in much healthier, I think :)

p/s: I hope you can share more information on the pricing and location of your food hunting as not everyone is from Penang :P

The Yee Sang and chicken porridge was taken from my dad's work place. So not sure of the pricing :P My blog is to be written as a food diary. So the location and pricing will be in between the lines. I don't write out the whole address like other bloggers. Anyway, people out there could always drop me a comment and ask further.
